The first Craft Instructor Training Institute was established in 1948. The main objective of Crafts Instructor training programme is to enable Instructors explore different aspects of the techniques in pedagogy and transferring of hands-on skills so as to develop a pool of skilled manpower for industries, also leading to their career growth & benefiting society at large. Thus promoting a holistic learning experience where trainee acquires specialized knowledge, skills & develops attitude towards learning & contributing in vocational training ecosystem.

This course also enables the instructors to develop instructional skills for mentoring the trainees, engaging all trainees in learning process and managing effective utilization of resources. It emphasizes on the importance of collaborative learning & innovative ways of doing things. All trainees will be able to understand and interpret the course content in right perspective, so that they are engaged in & empowered by their learning experiences and above all, ensure quality deliveryhttps://www.cstaricalcutta.gov.in

Objective: These Courses are to train the Vocational Instructors of various Industrial Training Institutes and other training establishments.

Combination of Subjects: The subjects from given below covered as per syllabus of respective Trade.

Trade Technology (Comprising of Basic & Advanced components of trade practice and theory).
Engineering Technology (Comprising of Workshop Calculations & Science and Engg. Drawing).
Vocational Science & Calculation / Soft Skills.
Training Methodology (Comprising of Teaching Practice and Principles of Teaching).

Start of session: 1st August of every year.

Selection: Admission is done through All India Common Entrance Test (AICET) which is conducted centrally by DGT HQ. The link is http://nimionlineadmission.in  Or http://dgt.gov.in

Age limit: Minimum 18 years, No upper age limit.

Eligibility for Admission: NCVT certificate in the relevant trade or Diploma / Degree from a recognized Board of Technical Education/University or Equivalent. Preference will be given to the candidates deputed by Govt. / Pvt. ITIs However, private candidates meeting the above requisites are also considered for admission subject to the availability of seats, on order of merit.

Admission & Award of Certificate: Candidates can enroll for the above programs for one year. A candidate has to secure 60% Sessional marks in Theory and Practicals and also have a minimum of 80% attendance. On possessing the above requisites, candidates will be allowed to appear for the final examination conducted by NCVT, New Delhi in June / July every year. On passing the prescribed exam, trainees will be awarded the Instructor training Certificate from NCVT.
